Unlike the rest of our site, nothing on this page is processor-verified. These are company statements, press reports and a public-company filing, each linked with its date. We did not estimate any number. For businesses whose payment data we can check, see the verified AI revenue leaderboard.

How much revenue does Cursor make?

Billions a year, by every public account. The most solid figure is the newest one. SpaceX's third-quarter results, filed with the SEC on Oct 20, 2026, say Cursor "contributed $608 million of revenue" from the day the deal closed (Aug 14) through Sep 30, 2026. That is 48 days, or about $12.7 million a day (our calc.).

For scale: the 44 AI businesses with verified revenue on our site make about $2,479,231 a month combined. Cursor's reported daily average is about 5.1x that (our calc., comparing reported revenue with verified MRR). The largest verified business we track, GojiberryAI, shows $424,368 MRR (last sync is stale).

"ARR" and "annualized revenue" are run rates: a recent month's revenue multiplied by 12. They are not audited and not the same as revenue booked over a year. The $608M figure is booked revenue for a 48-day period, reported by SpaceX. All figures reported, not verified.

From about $300M in April 2025 to over $4B in June 2026 is roughly 13x in 14 months (our calc. from the reported figures). TechCrunch also reported (Apr 17, 2026, citing two people) that Cursor forecast ending 2026 above $6B. That is a forecast, not a result.

How does Cursor make money?

Subscriptions, and more and more from companies. Forbes reported that 75% of the run rate came from business customers (company statement, late May 2026). Bloomberg reported more than 3,000 customers paying at least $100,000 a year each (May 21, 2026). Both are reported.

The plans changed after the acquisition. On Oct 21, 2026, cursor.com/pricing listed:

PlanPrice (Oct 21, 2026)
Free$0/month (limited agent and chat requests)
Plus$8/month (Grok models only)
Premium$30/month (4x Plus usage)
Super$100/month (15x Plus usage)
Ultra$200/month (50x Plus usage)
Teams$30+/user/month

The page now bundles Cursor with X and Grok features, and bills third-party models (other AI labs' models) separately at API list price. In June 2025, TechCrunch described the old plans as $20/month Pro and $40/month Business.

Who owns Cursor now?

SpaceX. Its Q3 2026 release says it completed the acquisition on Aug 14, 2026, at an implied equity value of $60 billion. Cursor was made by Anysphere, co-founded in 2022 by Michael Truell, Sualeh Asif, Arvid Lunnemark and Aman Sanger while they were students at MIT (TechCrunch). Since the deal closed, Cursor's results sit inside SpaceX's AI segment, so standalone run-rate updates have stopped.

Can a small team learn anything from Cursor?

One thing: sell a tool to people who use it every working day, then sell it to their employers. Cursor started with individual developers and now gets most of its revenue from companies. You can see smaller versions of that with verified numbers. TypingMind sells a power-user AI chat app, and SEObot sells an AI agent for one job (read how much SEObot makes).
