How much revenue does Anthropic make per quarter?

One later analysis on Investing.com rounds Q1 to $4.8B and Q2 to $11.5B; the gap is rounding between reports. Our math: Q1 to Q3 adds up to about $33.1B in nine months, and Q3 alone is about $183M a day. Q3 was up about 45% on Q2, slower than Q2's more-than-doubling.
What is Anthropic's annual run rate?
A run rate takes recent revenue (Anthropic uses about a month) and multiplies it out to a year. It's how Anthropic itself reports growth in its funding announcements:

About $9B to about $67B is roughly 7x in ten months (our math on reported figures). Two cautions from Damodaran (Oct 22, 2026): run rates aren't standardized, and Anthropic reports gross revenue (including Claude sold through cloud partners, with their cut booked as a cost), while OpenAI has moved to reporting net. So the two companies' run rates aren't directly comparable.
How much did Anthropic make in 2025?
Nearly $4.6B for the full year, twelve times 2024, while losing more than $8B on an operating basis excluding some write-downs, as Reuters reported in September and repeated in its Oct 14, 2026 story. Q3 2026 alone ($16.8B) is about 3.7x that whole year (our math).
Is Anthropic profitable?
By its own adjusted measure, yes for Q3 2026. It told investors it was profitable on an adjusted basis and cash-flow positive, and that it made $1.70 in revenue for every $1 spent on computing power (FT, via Investing.com and CNBC). "Adjusted" leaves out some costs. Damodaran wrote that he doesn't think "even Anthropic believes" the adjusted profit is real profit, and he is waiting for the IPO prospectus to value the company.
Will Anthropic hit $100 billion this year?
The reports conflict, so here's the range: the Wall Street Journal said investors expect about $110B in annualized revenue by year-end (via CNBC), while the FT reported it's expected to come in below $100B. Both are forecasts. The IPO filing, expected soon, should settle what the real numbers are.
How much does Claude cost?
From claude.com/pricing, read Oct 24, 2026: Free; Pro $20 a month ($17 a month billed annually); Max $100 or $200 a month (5x or 20x Pro's usage, with $100 to $200 a month in API credits). Teams and enterprises buy seats, and developers pay per use through the API. Anthropic said in April that over 1,000 business customers each spend more than $1M a year.
What does Anthropic's growth mean if you want to make money with AI?
Most of that money comes from businesses paying to get work done: writing code, answering customers, running agents. In our read, the same pattern shows up at small scale: people paying for AI that does a job. These small AI businesses have verified revenue in our data (we don't know which AI models each one uses):

How much does Anthropic make?
Anthropic told investors its revenue was $16.8 billion in the third quarter of 2026 (July to September), up from $11.6 billion in Q2 and $4.7 billion in Q1, according to people at its Oct 14, 2026 investor day (Reuters, CNBC). That is about $183 million a day (our division). It is reported, not verified: Anthropic is private and has not published a prospectus yet.
