How much do AI companies make?

It ranges from about $10,406 a month to billions a year. Of the 9 AI companies we wrote revenue breakdowns for using real payment data, the median is $85,482 a month in recurring revenue (TrustMRR). The famous ones are far bigger: Anthropic told investors it made $16.8B in Q3 2026 alone (Reuters, CNBC, Oct 14, 2026), a run rate of about $67B a year, OpenAI at roughly $50B a year (told investors, end of Sep 2026; FT, CNBC, Oct 8), Cursor at over $4B a year (Forbes, Jun 2026), Cognition (Devin) at over $1B a year (Sep 2026), and Lovable and ElevenLabs at about $600M a year each (TechCrunch, Sep 2026). Those big figures are reported by the companies or press, not verified.

Of the companies on this page, Anthropic, which told investors it made $16.8 billion in Q3 2026 (reported by Reuters and CNBC, Oct 14, 2026), a run rate of about $67 billion a year. Next is OpenAI at roughly $50 billion a year (end of Sep 2026, per the FT and CNBC, Oct 8, 2026), though OpenAI leaves most cloud-partner sales out of its figure and Anthropic counts them, so the two aren't directly comparable. Then Cursor, with a reported run rate of over $4 billion a year (Forbes, Jun 8, 2026). Among companies with verified payment data, GojiberryAI shows the most at $424,368 a month, though its last data sync is stale; the highest with fresh data is Postiz at $303,520 a month.

Verified means the number comes straight from the company's payment processor (Stripe, RevenueCat or Superwall), read by TrustMRR. Reported means the company or a news outlet said it, usually as an annualized run rate. We show both, but never mix them into one average.

Across the 37 businesses ranked on our leaderboard (verified revenue synced in the last 30 days; not just those with a post here), the median is $22,544 a month in MRR. That sample is hand-picked businesses that already work, so it is not what a typical new AI business makes.

Each row shows the date of its figure. Verified rows are re-checked on TrustMRR; if a company's payment processor stops syncing, we keep the last number and mark the row "stale" rather than guess. Reported rows carry the date the article was published and are only updated when a new public figure appears.

Annual recurring revenue (ARR) or annualized run rate takes recent monthly revenue and multiplies it by 12. It is not audited revenue for a year. MRR is the monthly version.
